Is that a light at the end of the tunnel?
Or a truck about to run us over?
Hard to say at this point but given that Natalie is now in Sydney, Australia to prepare for Thor: Love and Thunder filming - one can hope that the production line can start rolling again, and society at large of course.
Natalie’s landing happened right after August ended, so it won’t make this month’s list but we’ve got enough to pull together another strong top 5 Natalie Portman news items of the month so let’s get to it…
August Natalie News
#5 - Doggo Alert!
A week ago Natalie posted to Instagram that she had just registered to vote in the upcoming U.S. elections. It is unclear whether the dog did the same, but as the proud dad of two huskies there was no way this adorable photo wasn’t going to make the cut!
#4 - Interview Mode
Natalie continued her monthly Instagram Live interview series with interesting chats in August with Jessica Nowlan of Young Women’s Freedom Center and a talk a couple of weeks ago with the author, Daniel M. Lavery.
#3 - Cook-off
Looking for new vegan recipes? Then you’re definitely going to want to watch Natalie’s live stream with Brazilian celebrity cook, Bela Gil. Natalie showed Bela how she makes cauliflower with tahini dressing!
#2 - Science Rules!
Growing up Bill Nye: The Science Guy was one of my favorite shows, so it’s great to see Natalie in a long-form conversation with him about science-related topics (psychology, the environment, etc.) on his Science Rules! podcast.
Give it a listen here.
#1 - Dior Rouge
But #1 had to be a new Dior advert. Not that adverts are more important than the other items on the list, but as fans we love to see Natalie modelling and 2020 has been really weak on that side of the fan spectrum.
Check out the ad here.
Quote of the Month
The quote of the month literally comes from this month, from the announcement of Natalie’s new foray into sports ownership.
If forced to choose between lying and the ability to cause offense to a person, choose to be generous. - Natalie Portman as Fania in August 2016 release, A Tale of Love and Darkness.
Blast from the Past
Since Dior ads are back, I thought it would be fun to look back at some under the radar snaps from her first Dior campaign for Sofia Coppola.

That’s a wrap - see you in a few weeks!
Was that the right quote?
